home assignments

We are on a home assignment from Sep/2010 through Dec/2011.

During our 2010-2011 home assignment we are visiting our supporting churches in both Canada and the USA, while at the same time recruiting partners for our next church planting project (Tokyo Multicultural Church) and setting up the tsunami recovery ministry of the EFC of Canada Mission.

Since 1999 we have taken the following short home assignments in the United States and/or Canada:

• 2002—five months in the summer/fall based in BC, Canada
• 2004—five months in the summer/fall based in Maine, USA
• 2006—two months in the summer based in BC, Canada
• 2008—two months in the summer based in Maine, USA

We have chosen these home assignment dates on the basis of our ministry needs in Japan and our children's education needs. Since our youngest child graduated from high school in June 2010, we are now free to take longer home assignments.
