required financial support package

Japan is one of the world's most expensive countries. Within Japan, the world's largest megacity of Tokyo is the most expensive city.

Our current annual support package (account #2-2280) amounts to about $142,000 (Canadian or US dollars). We are short about 15%.

Our financial support package (account #2-2280) covers the following kinds of personal, ministry, and leadership logistics expenses:

• salary and minimal benefits such as retirement savings
• housing (rent and housing fees, exclusive of utility fees)
• ministry and leadership expenses (materials, office supplies, office utilities, communication expenses (prayer letters, websites), etc.)
• transportation for ministry and leadership both in Japan and to/from home assignments
• health insurance (international and Japanese)
• legal fees required for living as foreign residents in Japan (passports, visas, resident alien certificates, etc.)
• Japanese national income tax and prefectural/city tax
• small subsidy toward the undergraduate university education of our children
• remote mission administration or leadership in Canada and USA

Our support package does not cover facility expenses for the churches we plant or resource expenses for our tsunami relief work. Such expenses are handled by our "special financial projects" fund. But our support package is intended to cover all of our leadership logistics expenses for both our church planting and our tsunami recovery ministries.
